What is known about Navalny’s death by this hour
“He would be here.” Message from Yulia Navalnaya
Yulia Navalnaya spoke at the Munich Security Conference. Here is the full text:
You’ve probably all already seen the terrible news coming today. I also thought whether I should come here or fly straight to my children. Then I thought about what Alexey Navalny would say. And I’m sure he would be here. I would stand on this stage. And I don’t know whether to believe or not this terrible news that we only receive from government sources. You all know that we cannot trust the Putin government. They lie constantly.
But if this is true, I want Putin and everyone around him, his friends and the government to know that they will be held accountable for what they did to our country, to my family and my husband. And that day will come soon.
I want to call on the entire world community, everyone in this room, all the people in the world, so that we unite together and defeat this evil, defeat the horrific regime that is now in Russia. This regime and Vladimir Putin must take personal responsibility for all the terrible things they have been doing to my country, to our country Russia, in recent years.
“Do not give up”. Alexei Navalny’s advice in case of his own death
When the director of the documentary “Navalny” (Oscar Award 2023) asked Alexei to leave a message for the Russians in case he was killed, Navalny replied:
My point here is simply obvious: don’t give up. Don’t, don’t give up. If this happened, it means that we are unusually strong at this moment since they decided to kill me. Well, you need to use this power. To not give up. Remember that we are a huge force that is under the yoke of these bad dudes only because we cannot realize how strong we really are. All that is needed for the triumph of evil is the inaction of good people. Therefore, there is no need to remain idle.

On February 16, Thursday, at about 11 o’clock Moscow time, Navalny became ill while walking, reports the Baza telegram channel. An ambulance was called and doctors pronounced him dead at 12:17 Moscow time.
Two days earlier, on February 14, Alexei Navalny was put in a punishment cell for 15 days for the 27th time.
◼️ On February 15, in the afternoon, Navalny participated via video link in a hearing of the Vladimir Regional Court on his claim against the colony. According to Sota.Vision, whose correspondent was at the meeting, the politician was “cheerful, healthy and cheerful.”
◼️ Alexey’s press secretary, Kira Yarmysh , wrote that the politician’s team has no information confirming his death, and Alexey’s lawyer is now flying to the colony.
◼️ The United Russia apparatus sent State Duma deputies a message with instructions to refrain from commenting on the death of Alexei Navalny, the Agency reports , citing a source in the party.
◼️ The head of the European Council, Charles Michel , said that the EU holds the Russian authorities responsible for Navalny’s death. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that all the facts surrounding Navalny’s death must be established, and “Russia must answer serious questions.”
“Without an autopsy, it is impossible to determine whether there was a blood clot,” – the doctor who resuscitated Navalny after Novichok poisoning
Resuscitator Alexander Polupan, who was in the group of doctors who resuscitated Navalny after Novichok poisoning, told The Insider that it is impossible to diagnose a blood clot on the spot.
Blood clot rupture is a common name; the medical term is pulmonary embolism. To make such a diagnosis, it is necessary either to have an intravital instrumental examination, which, from what we know, was not performed because there were no conditions, or it is made based on the results of the autopsy. That is, now such a diagnosis will not be confirmed by anything, and, therefore, invalid.
Polupan also expressed bewilderment due to the fact that, despite the impossibility of making such a diagnosis on the spot, it was precisely this diagnosis that propaganda prepared:
According to the examination protocol, if thromboembolism is suspected, the first stage is transthoracic echocardiography, in which the overload of the heart can be seen and verified using pulmonary angiography. It is clear that they did not have the opportunity to do either one or the other. Therefore, making such a diagnosis is the same as pointing a finger at the sky. It is surprising that propaganda had this version ready.
