A hacker, who took over the Twitter account of the general director of Algorand, which was banned in Russia, boasted that in the 11 hours during which the company’s reaction followed, he took a nap.
The account of Algorand CEO Stacy Warden was hacked on January 26. After this, the attacker published a series of daring posts and edited the account description.
An hour before the first post written by the hacker, the Algorand Foundation warned users not to interact with the hacked account and stated that they were “working for for its restoration.”
However, despite the fact that Algorand was aware of the hack, after 11 hours the hacker gloated, asking: “And how long will this last?”, and added that whoever was responsible for and this, “he got enough sleep and everything else here.”
Hacker urged viewers to sell the “useless” $ALGO and buy $ETH , and also wrote a parody story about how Stacey Warden transfers “full control” over Algorand to Tron founder Justin Sun . He also used racial slurs, calling, among other things, Algorand owners “beggars.”
The hacker then edited Stacey Warden’s account description, writing: “Left Algorand Foundation. She siphoned off six-figure sums from the wallets of her clients, making them think it was a hack. Now I’m a semi-professional stripper, questions about bookings – in PM.” The hacker also actively responded to users. When one of them asked what was in Warden’s personal messages, he replied: “An alarming number of messages of a sexual nature with @VitalikButerin .” In response to the question of what is better to buy, the hacker replied: “Prostitute and cocaine.”
