The Cynic
“Biden invited Zelensky to the White House on Tuesday, December 12, to underscore his unwavering commitment to supporting the Ukrainian people as they defend against brutal Russian aggression. The leaders will discuss Ukraine’s urgent needs and the vital need for continued U.S. support at this critical moment,” White House.
The sign is good.
But so far, none of the sources close to Congress and the House of Representatives have reported that a political agreement has been concluded between Republicans and Democrats on the issue of military assistance.
The catch is that the Republicans attached to their support for the relief package a completely unpassable and completely wild in its nature immigration package, which is a real cesspool of all the wettest fantasies of the extremist wing of the Republican Party.
It is difficult to imagine a more chaotic, immoral in nature, anti-constitutional in its essence and anti-human in its orientation project in the field of migration in the conditions in which the United States was born and developed.
This is not a project – it is a militant campaign of the republics, each of the points of which is extremely painful for the democrats.
Democrats are negotiating and have even found common ground on some points.
But – again – the Republicans’ goal is not to reform the immigration system, but to destroy the Democrats’ pre-election foreign policy platform, and the migration project is an excuse to block aid to Ukraine, Taiwan and Israel.
This is a politically and politically technologically correct step, which is absolutely monstrous from the point of view of the global interests of the United States and the entire free world.
The Republicans thought of putting European and Eastern strategic security at stake not even on US migration policy (you will not find a single person in Congress who will say that a package of immigration reforms is vital for the US at the moment), but on selfish political interests in the context of the 2024 presidential elections. Therefore, negotiations as such are ineffective. Because the Republicans are aiming not at “migration”, but at Biden’s defeat in the presidential election. And they don’t care about migration, so the migration “conspiracy” doesn’t make much sense.
In any case, the “migration conspiracy” will ultimately turn out to be a “public humiliation of the Democratic Party” for the Republicans. Every Republican dog will tell you how the Republicans bent the Democrats, so all the latter’s liberal values aren’t worth a cent.
Any agreement between the Democrats and the Republicans will be broadcast by the Republicans themselves as the fact that “the Republicans fucked the Democrats ahead of schedule,” adding humiliating negotiations on an extremist draft immigration law into the history of Biden’s presidency.
Of course, I would like to believe that the Democrats were able to build a coalition with the Republicans under the carpet in order to suddenly stick a knife in the back of the Republican traitors to national interests with a few votes of defectors, but such an outcome is unlikely, since the betrayal of the interests of the Party (and even the most ardent fans of Ukraine from the Republican environment blocked the project ) will effectively take congressmen out of the political game for the rest of their lives.
On the other hand, the urgent formation of a “conspiracy” on migration will greatly reduce the Democrats’ chances of defending a “position of strength” in the presidential elections. And the Republicans will then be able (and quite objectively, it must be said) to tell everyone how they skillfully inserted an obviously unfavorable project into the democratic mouth… This political bestiality is the result of the fact that the tail of Trumpist extremists is wagging the entire dog at the Republican Party.
