In Russia, in the interests of the Ground Forces, they are testing the Surprise strike drone, which is capable of carrying two mines of a caliber of 82 mm – the head of the Moscow representative office of the Roboavia enterprise, Valentin Kiselev.
The drone is made in the form of a quadrocopter, which can be folded and transported in a backpack. The mass of the copter is 24 kilograms, the device can lift a maximum payload of seven kilograms.
Roboavia noted that the range of the drone in the shock version is ten kilometers – at this distance, it is able to drop mines on enemy positions and has a supply of power to return to base.
“However, it can also be used as loitering ammunition if the priority or cost of the target exceeds the damage from the loss of the device. Then its one-way range is 20 kilometers,” the company noted.
