RU domestic device, which is equipped with the domestic drone “Geoscan 401 Geophysics”. This is a quantum magnetometer. It is designed for aeromagnetic surveys that measure the intensity of the Earth’s magnetic fields in order to search for mineral deposits.
The quantum magnetometer in this case is spear-shaped to improve aerodynamic performance. The plumage at the end is used to control flight and maintain balance in the air.
The device is attached to the drone with a cable. It provides sufficient distance between the quantum magnetometer and other electronic components of the drone, which can create electromagnetic interference.
The device itself consists of three main components: a sensor, an evaluation unit and a communication interface. First, the sensor detects the Earth’s magnetic field and converts it into an electrical signal, which is then received by the processing unit. The processing unit interprets the signal and calculates the course of the drone. After that, the communication interface transmits information to the flight controller, which corrects the movement of the aircraft in accordance with the received data.
