“The current government of Israel has chosen the path of close cooperation with the Russian Federation” – the Ukrainian embassy in Israel posted a rather harsh appeal to the Israeli government on Facebook .
“This is evidenced by a series of rather controversial events that took place in the first half of 2023 and which coincided with the almost complete absence of Israeli humanitarian aid to Ukraine.”
Among these events is mentioned “the fruitless visit of the head of the Israeli Foreign Ministry to Ukraine in February of this year and a number of interviews of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with the Israeli media, in particular, the last one with The Jerusalem Post on June 22.”
The interview contains “fictional and speculative assumptions that suggest the transfer of Western weapons from the battlefield in Ukraine to the Syrian and Iranian regimes.”
The Embassy notes that the Israeli government has successfully held two rounds of high-level political talks with the Russian Foreign Ministry.
There is an agreement on the creation of another Russian diplomatic mission in Jerusalem, for which a plot of land was allocated free of charge.
The embassy believes that the Israeli officials who took part in the diplomatic reception arranged by the Russian embassy in Jerusalem a week ago are disregarding moral principles, because they ignore Putin’s regular anti-Semitic statements.
” Over the past two years, it [Israel] has increased bilateral trade with the bloody Moscow regime.”
The embassy also added that while the Ukrainian people, including the Jewish community, are bleeding due to attacks by Russian missiles and Iranian drones, the Israeli leadership is actively improving relations with the Russian Federation.
The embassy emphasizes that the “neutrality” of the Israeli government is seen as a clear pro-Russian position.
“We call on the Israeli government to change its position and support Ukraine with defense means, support it in the fight against Russian state terrorism.”
