SecureTower from FalconGaze is a program with which the management of the RKN monitors its employees like animals in a zoo.
The system intercepts and records all actions on employees’ computers up to keystrokes.

This is how Roskomnadzor even receives personal information about employees:
- correspondence in social networks, instant messengers;
- documents (even personal);
- passwords;
- credit card details, etc.
The FalconGaze website says that their system “helps companies protect themselves from leaks,” but in fact, it was thanks to SecureTower that CyberPartisans learned about all the actions of employees on the PC for many months. We hacked into their product and got access to all of the above information.
By the way, FalconGaze shamelessly stole and renamed some code libraries, violating their licenses. Data on this has already been transferred to the relevant European authorities.

Clean Internet – Roskomnadzor’s strict censorship system
cyber guerrillas
March 26, 2023
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Russia’s chief state censor, Roskomnadzor, has had more work to do. Previously, his subordination – the Main Radio Frequency Center – was mainly engaged in identifying child pornography, suicide propaganda and drugs. But since 2022, the organization has switched mainly to politics. It is its employees who collect any criticism regarding the actions of the Kremlin leadership and personally Vladimir Putin, form denunciations to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General’s Office, and also force media resources to delete objectionable information, threatening blocking and courts.

Moreover, Roskomnadzor’s plans are at least Napoleonic.As it became known after the cyber-partisans hacked the internal network of the Main Radio Frequency Center, the RKN seeks to control 100% of the Russian Internet.
For this, several automated systems have been developed that allow you to quickly identify and block materials that are objectionable to the Kremlin’s policies. At the moment, a system called “Clean Internet” is being actively developed and implemented. With its help, monitoring is carried out in social networks and the Yandex search service.
What is the “Clean Internet” system?
The Clean Internet system is designed to monitor the so-called prohibited information. Its development began in July 2020, and initially the system was going to be used to detect drug propaganda, suicide, and child pornography in texts. But on February 25, 2022, just a day after the start of the war in Ukraine, the Clean Internet was connected to the search for articles and comments with calls for protests and criticism of the Russian military.
Currently, work to improve the system is still underway. By May 2023, they plan to successfully identify content by topic with its help:
- public events;
- contributions of minors;
- insulting the president;
- fakes about the state and the country as a whole;
- promotion of non-traditional sexual relations.
They plan to do this not only in texts, but also in audio, photo, and video materials.
Responsible for finalizing the Clean Internet system are:
- Volkova Anastasia Aleksandrovna – Head of the Internal Projects Department of the Digital Transformation Department

- Sharapov Igor Rodionovich – former head of the Department for organizing monitoring of mass media.

How does Clean Internet work?
The main goal of the project is to find prohibited information a maximum of a day after publication.
To do this, the Clean Internet robots analyze textual materials in social networks and Yandex search results using linguistic dictionaries and neural networks.
Based on the results of the analysis, the system creates cards in which suspicions of violations are recorded. They display material with violations and the type of prohibited information.

Below you see an example of a card in the “Clean Internet” system in the form in which it gets to a specialist involved in censorship. It is his responsibility to review the information on the card and then accept or reject the violation.

What social networks and search engines check?
Currently, the robots of AS Clean Internet can scan the social networks VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, Answers Mail.ru, My World, LiveJournal and YouTube. In 2023, as conceived by the developers, the system will also learn to work with many other social networks.

Among search engines, AS Clean Internet currently works only with Yandex . In agreement with the leadership of Roskomnadzor, this particular search engine was chosen, since up to 10 thousand search queries can be made in it daily for free. Moreover, over time, the Yandex company increased this limit to 300,000 requests per day, specifically for the censors of Roskomnadzor, in order to facilitate the development and operation of the Clean Internet system.

In 2023, the system is also planned to be trained to process search queries through the Mail.ru service. And in 2024, the intentional plans to extend to Google .

How accurately does it work?
The accuracy of the Clean Internet system still leaves much to be desired. According to statistics for 2022, this figure was 35%. That is, only slightly more than a third of the selected materials actually contain any violations from the point of view of Roskomnadzor.

Perhaps, in many ways, this is why the Clean Internet is used in conjunction with another automated system, Brand Analytics, to process articles and comments on the war in Ukraine. We already wrote about it earlier , and also recommended how to bypass this surveillance.
These systems facilitate, but still do not completely replace the work of people. In any case, all selected materials are analyzed by the operators of the Main Radio Frequency Center, and also sent for final control to the censors of Roskomnadzor.
In the future, we will talk about how exactly articles and comments on military topics are monitored, as well as how strict censorship turns out for the media and ordinary citizens.
