The Venezuelan Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (Cicpc) announced on Monday a reward of one million dollars to anyone who offers information that allows the whereabouts of Carlos Enrique Gómez Rodríguez, known by the alias “el Conejo”, to be found. leader of a gang of the same name and accused of committing homicides and kidnappings, among other crimes.


The director of the police force, Douglas Rico, said that the information that helps to locate six other members of the gang, whose names, faces and the crimes for which they are accused were published by the official in your Instagram account.

“They are looking for dangerous members of the criminal group nicknamed El Conejo, which is being investigated for multiple crimes of terrorism, extortion, kidnapping, homicide, among others,” Rico said on the social network.
The authorities offered rewards in July 2021 for information leading to the whereabouts of the members of a gang that terrorized the neighborhood of Cota 905 in Caracas, occupied by the police after violent clashes that left 26 dead.
Its main leader, Carlos Luis Reverte, alias “El Koki” and for whom they offered half a million dollars, was killed in February 2022 in Aragua, a region controlled by “El Conejo”.
Venezuela is, together with Honduras, the most violent country in Latin America, with almost 11,000 violent deaths between 2021 and 2022, according to the Venezuelan Observatory of Violence (OVV), a reference NGO due to the lack of official figures.
Recently, this “criminal organization carried out attacks on commandos of the National Police (Bolivarian, PNB), Bolivarian National Guard (GNB, militarized police) and Cicpc”, in the Las Tejerías sector, located in the state of Aragua (central ), which kept the population “in anxiety”.
He assured that the gang also carried out “criminal activities (related) to drug trafficking and firearms trafficking.”
The official shared two telephone lines so that those with useful information can make the report “confidentially.”
In February of last year, the Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace, Remigio Ceballos, reported that the authorities redoubled the search for El Conejo and the rest of the members of this “dangerous gang.”
