Three powerful explosions thundered at the air base in occupied Berdyansk, after which another 15 explosions of lesser force sounded.

Today they were so loud that, according to the advisor of the mayor of Mariupol Petro Andryushchenko, they were heard even in Urzuf: a series of explosions at 16:50 and 17:10; explosion at 17:20, after which panic began in the village among collaborators and a loud explosion at 17:24, the sound wave of which reached even local houses.

It is known that there was a concentration of enemy equipment at the Berdyansk airfield: vehicles, planes and drones, which struck the positions of the Ukrainian army. Today, after the hits, a large-scale fire started there, so all the fire engines and ambulances that were in the city went there.

The day before, on December 5-6, similar incidents took place at air bases in Ryazan, Kursk and Engels (Saratov region). The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that they occurred as a result of strikes by Ukrainian UAVs. It is possible that the explosions at the Berdyansk airport are events from the same series, but the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has not yet commented on it. The occupation administration of the city, on behalf of the “pseudo-mayor” Oleksandr Saulenko, predictably called this two-day series of “cotton” a fake.

One way or another, if the explosions of military equipment at the airfield continue, then Berdyansk will repeat the resounding glory of Chornobayivka.

There is a massive fire at the smoking area.

The mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, confirmed the “bavovna” at the Berdyansk airport: “For the second day in a row, the neighbors are very loud. According to local reports, something went wrong with the occupiers in the airport area, where their equipment and drones were located.”

Satellite images of the airfield in Berdyansk: on the eve of the “cotton”, Russian helicopters crowded

The Armed Forces of Ukraine hit the territory of the airfield in occupied Berdyansk for two days in a row: the day before, the Russians completed the repair of the runway and brought in their helicopters

Why is Berdyansk Airport actively gaining fame as the “new Chornobayivka” in recent days? The answer to this question is provided by an analysis of satellite images of the location posted on Twitter by an OSINT researcher working under the pseudonym Scil.

On the other hand, information references booms coming from the direction of the port seen on fire:

“Regarding yesterday’s explosions at the Berdyansk airport (46.81227, 36.76748), Sentinel-1 images. The timelapse shows the appearance of Russian helicopters at the air base. The Russians began clearing the territory at the air base at the end of November,” the analyst comments.
