Russian opposition announced the creation of a political center of armed struggle in Ukraine
The Legion “Freedom of Russia” and the “National Republican Army” (NRA) signed a Declaration on cooperation and coordination of actions and plan to create a common political center, which will be headed by Russian opposition politician Ilya Ponomarev.
According to an Ukrinform correspondent, a fighter with the call sign “Caesar” from the Legion “Freedom of Russia” signed the declaration, and the NRA fighters operating in Russia authorized Ponomarev to do so. The Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) plans to sign this document later.
“All our units, all our actions that we have been conducting since the beginning of the war, were aimed at one thing – that this regime (in the Russian Federation – ed.) must fall, the empire must die, Ukraine must win, and this war must be completed. And this is our common goal,” Ponomarev said.
According to him, each of them did his job in his own area – some in the Russian Federation, some on the battlefield.
“And now we understand that we need to take the next step. We see how much misunderstanding, surprise, questions are caused by the fact that, it turns out, there are Russians fighting side by side with the Ukrainians, who are conducting armed resistance and are determined to go to the end And so we understand that we need to create some kind of political representation, some kind of common center to explain our goals, show, tell, communicate with both government authorities and journalists,” the politician said.
Ponomarev stressed that they are very grateful that they can act in Ukraine.
In turn, a fighter of the Freedom of Russia legion with the call sign “Caesar” said: “We are very grateful to the Ukrainian people, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and President Zelensky for giving us the opportunity to wash away the shame with which the Russian people have covered themselves with weapons in their hands. It is a great honor for us to stand side by side with the Ukrainians.”
The signed declaration establishes the principles of the activities of the Russian opposition, which is waging war against the regime of Russian President Vladimir Putin from both sides of the front.
In particular, the signatories plan to pursue a common information policy, explaining their goals and objectives to the Russian society, campaigning among the opponents of Putinism.
The signatories of the document note that they took up arms “exclusively to fight the usurpers of power in the Russian Federation, warmongers and organizers of the war and their minions and financiers.”
During the event, a single symbolism of armed anti-Putin resistance was also proclaimed. The signatories, while maintaining the symbols of each of their units, accept the white-blue-white flag as a symbol of the common struggle.
As reported, members of the Legion “Freedom of Russia” said that this unit was created to fight the Putin regime
