The Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies is a leading Russian research organization that studies a wide range of issues in the field of defense and security: the structure and state of the armed forces of the countries of the world, the defense industry, and military-technical cooperation. Founded by Ruslan Pukhov and Konstantin Makienko in 1997.
The ACT Center publishes the key results of its activities in the Arms Export magazine , which it has been publishing since its foundation. In 2007, the magazine received the “Golden Idea” award, established by the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of the Russian Federation, in the nomination “For information support for the export of military products.” From 2004 to 2018, the Moscow Defense Brief magazine was published in English, also awarded the FSMTC Golden Idea award.
Since 2002, the ACT Center has also published a daily thematic review of the media “Periscope” , and since 2008 has been preparing and publishing books . The books “The Syrian Frontier” with a foreword by the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation S.K. Shoigu, “Between Peace and War: Special Operations Forces” and “Terrible Sky. Aviation in Modern Conflicts, edited by Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security V.N. Bondarev. Now two more books are being prepared for publication: about Pakistan and military intelligence of the world.
The second line of activity of the AST Center is the provision of consulting services and the provision of information and analytical support to Russian specialized ministries and departments, defense enterprises, and research organizations.
The ACT Center is not funded by government, commercial or other organizations. The company provides its activities through the sale of research and media products, consulting services, and the implementation of other projects.
