The Cynic

Alexander Dugin: in the present state, we are not capable of inflicting a mortal blow on the West. If the omnipotence of the West ends by itself, then everything in the world will change in general. But for the forecasts to be realistic, it is still worth assuming that the West will still stretch out for some time and remain as it is now.

Brief: It is fashionable in Moscow now to talk about the tension between the authorities and various illiberal segments of society, which will allegedly grow. A particular danger to the political regime is represented by ultra-patriotic circles, which do not demonstrate their readiness to “fluctuate along with the party’s course.” All these military correspondents are becoming a real problem. With a high degree of probability, the authorities will respond to their dissatisfaction with pinpoint criminal-administrative persecutions – as in the case of the liberal flank.

It is worth paying attention to the fact that the ideologist of Russian fascism and chauvinism stopped predicting the imminent end of the West and concluded that Russia is powerless against the United States. Now he hopes for the passage of time, which itself will wash the West off the throne of world civilization.

This is a significant difference from the February position, when he squealed that a new reality had come, which could not be canceled. It turned out that reality is returning to its former framework (the West is at the top; Russia is face down in the sewers, gnawed on by worms and dung beetles). Ukraine is becoming the new center of Eastern Europe, and on the Western sidelines there are whispers that the military-political emphasis should be placed on the Ukraine-Poland-Baltic link in the context of building a new world order in Eastern Europe.

It also confirms the information that the Kremlin is beginning to closely monitor the actions of “ultrapatriots”, considering them the main threat to the preservation of authoritarian power – we have repeatedly reported this.

The only difference is that they will be taken out of the podium “quietly” so as not to cause a feeling of understatement in the clan of supporters of Putin and the war. As Kremlin advisers say, it is impossible to “execute” ardent supporters of military expansion in a revealing way – then a dissonance will arise in society that they are starting to “hack” their own people, so they will be quietly taken off the air.

In addition, there is a rather interesting situation in the “decision-making centers”:

1) The Kremlin, after an emergency convocation of the legislature, withdrew itself from the decision-making cycles. The military path is left to chance, because there are no people willing to take responsibility for the failure at the front with HIMARS.

2) Due to the fact that the center has ceased to be active in military planning, and there is no other tool for managing military operations in Moscow, serious sluggishness and untimely decisions of the command are noticeable on most fronts.

3) At the “middle” level of the military hierarchy, initiative military personnel are still being burned out, capable of independently making decisions and mobilely leading tactical groups. Moscow is trying to suppress internal authority as much as possible, tying everyone to its political decisions.

4) Activity remains only on the flanks of “civil terror”, since in such attacks the results are easily provable – several corpses among civilians and a summary of their Ukrainian and Western press.

In principle, almost all military strategists are trying to get into this funnel – you hit the squares – you instantly get an “exhaust” as a picture, unlike “combat strategists”, who for several weeks have not been able to demonstrate a single military success at the front.

5) The “tactical pause” taken by Moscow, which urgently turned into an unprepared tactical attack, as a result of which it was necessary to turn into a “pause” again, is a failed operation, for which the military are trying to push responsibility on each other.

6) The military leadership understands that as a result of the work of HIMARS, Russia will face serious logistical problems, but no one undertakes to invent chains that will allow the effective use of existing weapons. Thus, Russia will enter a new phase of the war “blind” in terms of logistics.
