The submarine “Veliky Novgorod” from the Black Sea Fleet submarine formation has passed training tests for the survivability of the vessel, on January 29, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports.
The survivability of a submarine means the ability, in case of accidents and combat damage, to maintain, to one degree or another, the ability to continue the task, or at least return to base on its own or in tow. The most severe in their consequences are accidents accompanied by fire or water ingress.
