Satellite image from eastern Ukraine shows Russian-backed militias in conflict with Ukraine’s central government hiding self-propelled howitzers in industrial centers.
From the militants’ point of view, this would make Ukraine reluctant to target the Howitzers even if they were identified, as this could damage the country’s infrastructure.
