The “cleansing” of two major Russian media outlets, the federal Internet edition “Republic” and the St. Petersburg news agency “Rosbalt”, included in the list of foreign media outlets, is quite indicative. #ФСБ
Are you buying from Western companies who sell to Putin’s Oligarchs?Western companies selling to Russia
Former Putin friends are behind both media.
The site “Republic” November 2016 was called “Slon”, and its investors were the former owner of the bank “KIT Finance” Alexander Vinokurov and Natalia Sindeeva.
When the General Council of United Russia became interested in where the 135 billion rubles allocated by the state to the KIT Finance Bank had disappeared, it turned out that the Bank of Russia had allocated them at the request of Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin.
Republic is part of the same media holding with the Dozhd TV channel, which was also previously included in the list of foreign media agents.
The situation with Rosbalt is even more interesting.
IA “Rosbalt” was founded by Natalia Cherkesova, the wife of the former deputy director of the FSB (under the chairman of the FSB Vladimir Putin) and the former head of the FSKN Viktor Cherkesov.
Rosbalt enjoyed great influence among the security forces and used massive inside information from their midst.
Despite a direct connection with Vladimir Putin, Cherkesov is considered Dmitry Medvedev’s man. Moreover, he is part of the very group that tried to “move” Putin’s group back in 207.
It is obvious that before the “big transfer” there is a “clean-up”, first of all, of those large federal media, the reliability of which is not sure on Staraya Square. Next in line are Yuri Dud, Znak.com, as well as other publications related to Dmitry Medvedev, Alexei Kudrin, Elvira Nabiullina, Alexei Ulyukaev, Igor Shuvalov, Arkady Dvorkovich.
The publications directly controlled by Sergei Chemezov, Gazprom, Rosneft, as well as Novaya Gazeta, Ekho Moskvy, RTVI will remain afloat. The rest will be destroyed or forced to take the path of Medusa.
