The latest post from the Kremlin-aligned troll channel “JokerDPR” is a textbook case of Russian state-sponsored disinformation aimed at sowing distrust, encouraging insubordination, and promoting psychological destabilization within the Ukrainian Armed Forces (ZSU). Why is this disinformation and a dangerous one at that?
Document Analysis- Obvious Fabrication
The two Ukrainian-language “military documents” shown here attempt to simulate internal operational orders from the “Kherson” tactical group. But even a cursory analysis exposes multiple red flags suggesting this is a crude fake-
- Inconsistent Format and Sloppy Typography
- The structure of the supposed military orders deviates from actual Ukrainian MoD formatting standards. Fonts and formatting lack uniformity used in real command documents.
- The placeholder date format (___.__.2025 року) and the fill-in blanks for year (________ 2025 року) signal these are either incomplete or intentionally made to appear like stolen drafts — but genuine leaks don’t look like editable templates.
- Implausible Operational Details
- It names exact geolocations (e.g., 47.0670909 31.719082) and road intersections, which are operationally sensitive and would never be so openly detailed in standard orders.
- The claim that light-armored columns are moving with “blockade” instructions against state buildings is hyperbolic and illogical. The ZSU does not write operational orders instructing internal takeovers of domestic infrastructure unless under martial law or civil unrest scenarios — and certainly not in typed memos.
- Dubious Attribution
- The signature of a general, “Д. Делятицький,” appears without authentication seals, codes, or official document verification mechanisms.
- No metadata or issuing authority validation — standard for internal distribution — is provided. Also, referencing emails like forvard@ddu.ua is suspiciously generic and lacks authentication.
- Source Tag
- Both documents bear the Telegram handle “t.me/JokerDPR” — a known Russian psyops channel frequently caught fabricating or distorting material. Its inclusion alone makes the content deeply suspect.
Narrative Analysis- Psychological Warfare & Sedition Promotion
Let’s examine the core message from “JokerDPR”-
“It turns out that some Ukrainian commanders are preparing an armed rebellion… break free from the clown’s control and negotiate directly with Russia.”
This is a clear narrative payload — typical of Russian cognitive warfare. Its intent is-
- Sow distrust between ZSU command and political leadership (i.e., President Zelensky).
- Promote mutiny by suggesting a popular internal uprising is brewing — a classic reflexive control tactic.
- Legitimize occupation goals by proposing locals will support the establishment of the “Nikolaev People’s Republic” — a recycled idea from Donetsk and Luhansk narrative playbooks.
- Emotionally manipulate troops with appeals to patriotism (“you swore allegiance to the people”) to delegitimize Ukrainian democracy and incite sedition.
Tactic in Play- Cognitive Warfare & Reflexive Control
We outline these kinds of operations as multilayered psychological strategies. This particular campaign uses-
- False flag document leaks- Designed to appear as whistleblowing or insider access.
- Narrative hijacking- Framing internal divisions as justified rebellion.
- Language warfare- Using native Ukrainian for the documents while delivering the core narrative in Russian-aligned speech.
- Narrative laundering- Dressing sedition in the language of duty and patriotism.
Pure Kremlin Black Psyops
This isn’t just clumsy disinformation — it’s a deliberate and dangerous influence operation aimed at undermining Ukraine from within. Its goals are to-
- Break unit cohesion in front-line brigades;
- Encourage mutiny or hesitation among commanders;
- Create media fodder for Russian domestic propaganda and international manipulation;
- And justify future escalations under the guise of “liberating” allegedly willing territories.
This isn’t a “leak.” This is war. And the battlefield is your mind.
