The first unit of Bushehr nuclear power plant has produced more than 66 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity and delivered it to the country’s national electricity grid, using the internal facilities and operation of the Iranian company since the start of operation in October 2013.
With the amount of electricity produced in this power plant over the past 11 years, the consumption of more than 105 million barrels of crude oil has been saved, and the release of about 71 million tons of environmental pollutants has been prevented by thermal power plants. This unit has had the best performance during its operation period in 1402 with the production of about 7.5 billion kilowatt hours, equivalent to about 11.4% of the total production.
Also, according to the report of the Ministry of Energy on 26 August 1403, this unit, by registering a capacity factor of 96.9% among all types of thermal and renewable power plants in the country, has been able to produce energy during the last 2 months of 13975290 megawatt hours, equivalent to the household electricity needs of 2.3 million families. which is a unique record in Iran.
▪️ Footnote : By Mehr 1402, Bushehr power plant has paid back the 4 billion dollar cost of its construction in addition to 1.4 billion dollar surplus by saving 5.4 billion dollars in fossil fuel consumption.
