Chinese scientists using an artificial intelligence (AI) electronic warfare system have detected unusual signals that have repeatedly appeared in the South China Sea, Guam, the Marshall Islands and the Aleutian Islands near Alaska.
The signal characteristics indicate the existence of “tactical coordination” between military radars deployed in the Pacific Ocean region.
China has reportedly created a data processing platform based on AI algorithms that can conduct massive data searches and analysis, producing accurate intelligence information to provide to PLA units.
The AI system can analyze signals with noise to identify patterns in coordination between different types of foreign radars, can determine the type of stations, reveal their characteristics and predict the activities of foreign navies. In addition, the AI of the electronic warfare system interacts with other intelligence platforms, including satellites , to confirm the data received.
This information helps the PLA command to efficiently plan electronic warfare missions.
