The Chinese company Starpery Technology in Shenzhen (Guangdong Province) is developing a new generation sex doll. Prototypes are expected in August 2024.
The dolls will be equipped with an AI bot and sensors, allowing them to communicate through movement and speech to create an emotional connection.
In the future, Starpery also plans to create robots for housework, helping people with disabilities and the elderly.
While the company is trying to solve technical problems. These are the size of the battery and the flexibility of the artificial muscles. Cost and ethical issues associated with robot-human interaction play an important role.
Other Chinese manufacturers, WMdoll and EXdoll, are also developing AI-based sex dolls.
According to Starpery Technology, despite its social conservatism, China is the largest market for sex dolls, surpassing the combined sales of the United States, Japan and Germany.
