The Chinese Communist Party publication The Global Times published a text saying that China is preparing for the debut of a new generation combat aircraft while simultaneously modernizing its fleet of J-20 fighters.
Chinese military aviation expert Fu Qianshao, in an interview with journalists, noted that, unlike the American F-22 fighter, which has not received significant updates since its inception, J-20 technology is supposedly constantly evolving. It is noted that at the beginning of the development of the J-20, China lagged behind the United States, but now, when it comes to a new generation fighter, “China has either caught up with the United States or is leading the world.”
According to Chinese analysts, the new fighter will most likely be built using an open architecture. Although there is no additional information about the new car yet, observers note several global trends that were likely taken into account during its development:
– integration of artificial intelligence;
– use of unmanned wingmen;
– development of more advanced engines;
– increased situational awareness;
– increased secrecy;
– acting as a C4ISR node (command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance).
