At the World Defense Expo 2024, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from February 4 to 8, 2024, China unveiled the ASN-301 loitering munition.
Its main function is to penetrate enemy airspace, remaining there until a radar signal is detected. When detected, the ASN-301 aims at the target and delivers a precision strike. This capability allows the ASN-301 to be considered as a powerful tool for neutralizing air defense systems with radar.
Its homing device can identify targets within a 25 km radius; the system is programmed to acquire up to eight predetermined radar targets. The ammunition warhead, filled with 7,000 fragments, is activated by a proximity laser fuse, providing a destruction radius of 20 meters.
Range – 288 km.
Maximum speed – 220 km/h.
Take-off weight – 135 kg.
