Here is a supposedly modernized Russian cruise missile “X-101”, which uses the tactics of “thermal emissions” ( shot heat traps imitate the heat of the engine, and thereby increase the probability of a miss of the missile that is supposed to shoot down this very missile ) to deceive the enemy’s air defense.
Not only is a cruise missile incredibly difficult to shoot down due to its low flight altitude, but it is now also protected.

This is a new generation of high-precision long-range cruise missiles. The X-101 is made exclusively from Russian components and is invisible to radar. The advanced guidance system ensures deviation from the target by no more than 5 meters. The X-101’s navigation system is inertial, like that of a ballistic missile.
