Capture of the airport in Makhachkala. How events developed
Hundreds of Dagestan residents gathered at Makhachkala airport to meet the plane from Tel Aviv.
- Those present chanted anti-Semitic slogans and held posters “There is no place for child killers in Dagestan” and “We are against Jewish refugees.” Provocateurs called for photographing the faces of those arriving, asking them whether they condemn Israel, stopping and checking cars, as well as chasing cars and tracking the location of arrivals.
- The crowd blocked the roads, causing a traffic jam at the entrance to the airport. “Let’s all get together and chant! Please! No questions. But don’t block the road, you’re breaking the law,” police officers ask the crowd.
- Protesters tore down the airport fence and broke into the airfield in “searches for Jews.” The crowd, looking for Israeli citizens, broke into every room of the airport.

The number of wounded police officers at Makhachkala airport increased to four. All of them were injured during the riots by flying stones thrown by the angry crowd. One was hit in the forehead with a stone. The rest have bruises, concussions, and abdominal trauma.
Two civilians were also injured during the riots.
All victims are receiving medical care in different clinics in Makhachkala.
