The National Intelligence Organization (MIT) caught the person who tried to defraud business people and senior public officials by imitating the voice of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan with artificial intelligence.
According to the information received, the MIT started a study to identify the person trying to gain profit by imitating Erdogan’s voice and calling some business people and senior public administrators.
Following the suspect, who imitated President Erdoğan’s voice with artificial intelligence applications and called business people from more than 10 different GSM lines purchased for foreign nationals, MIT detected the identity and location of the fraudster.
The suspect was caught in a short time as a result of the sensitive work of the MIT’s cyber security units and handed over to the security units.
Emphasizing that citizens should be careful against such attempts within the scope of cyber crimes, the authorities stated that measures against voice and identity fraud will continue to be increased.
