China’s Use of Drones in Sino-Indian Border Dispute: A Case Study of Civil-Military Integration – Western Manual by Frstrategie
The manual presents about forty different Chinese UAVs designed to perform the tasks of logistics, surveillance, reconnaissance, artillery support, mine clearance, search, and rescue of the wounded.
Drones are deployed in the Indian direction in the Xinjiang Uygur and Tibet Autonomous Regions of China and can be used in the event of a conflict or aggravation of relations.
Basically, these are small and medium-sized UAVs.
The vast majority of UAVs in use are built by civilian companies, not the military, including startups.
In addition to well-known Chinese manufacturers DJI and AllTech , more confidential ones such as Ziyan, Tuohang, and Tiantu play a key role. These companies illustrate China’s progress in civil-military integration, a Middle Kingdom strategy implemented since 2015.
