The Cynic
The Russian Foreign Ministry is considering the question of how to secretly inform the Chinese side about the undesirability of Ambassador Zhang Hanhui’s stay in the country. From the moment of his appointment in the Russian Federation, the activities of the embassy began to acquire a hidden unfriendly character, and the ambassador himself often used his official position for business purposes. Also noteworthy is the assessment of relations between the PRC and Russia as “friendly”, although most recently Ambassador Zhang Hanhui said that “we are more than allies, we are brothers, back to back.” The Foreign Ministry attributes such changes in the activities of the embassy to the fact that Zhang Hanhui represented China in Ukraine for a long time – pro-government Russian media.

“Barbaric treatment”: China accused Russia of inappropriate treatment of Chinese citizens at the border
The Chinese Embassy in Russia has accused Russian border guards of barbaric treatment of Chinese citizens on the Russian-Kazakh border. The incident at the border occurred at the end of July, writes the South China Morning Post.
According to a statement from the Chinese embassy, five Chinese were denied entry to Russia from Kazakhstan at the time and their tourist visas were revoked. Before that, they were interrogated for almost four hours, the embassy notes.
Russia replied that it was an isolated incident. The Chinese were allegedly denied entry because the destination listed on their visa application did not match their actual destination.
👆And Chinese Hui at the meeting in Saudi Arabia…
China and Russia are beginning to cautiously move away from each other, keeping the public spectrum in a “heap of smiles.”
Everything is simple here: for the PRC, Russia is not an ally, but an “option” for playing with the United States. And if it is possible to buy time in competition with the US, China will turn into an anti-Russian player.
China has no friends at all. There are partners (temporary) and rivals (also temporary).
China juggles them, depending on the circumstances.
Now he juggles a little to the side. Russia cannot offer China anything (China will take everything it needs anyway, with the tacit consent of Russia). Therefore, it is possible to move away, sucking out resources, while hinting at disappointment with Putin.
