Chinese armed forces sank US aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford
Planners in China held a war game in which they simulated an attack on a US Navy aircraft carrier strike group (AUG). A total of 20 simulated battles were held.
Composition of AUG:
▪️ aircraft carrier “Gerald R. Ford” ;
▪️ missile cruiser San Jacinto (CG-56) “of the Ticonderoga type;
▪️ four Arleigh Burke-class destroyers .
The total number of anti-missiles AUG type SM-3 is 264 .
▪️ According to the scenario , the American AUG entered the waters of the South China Sea and, despite warnings from China, continued to move towards the island under the jurisdiction of Beijing.
▪️ In response, the PRC Armed Forces launched volley strikes from the territory of China (from the south and the Gobi Desert region) from six launchers (diagram). Two types of hypersonic anti-ship missiles were used. A total of 24 shells were fired.
▪️ The Chinese military has reportedly demonstrated “mastery of its sophisticated launch strategy,” which called for three waves of strikes to deceive and penetrate the AUG’s defense systems.
▪️ During the simulation, restrictions were introduced for China:
➖ lack of satellite intelligence;
➖ limited number of hypersonic missiles.
