Yesterday’s raid into the Bryansk region sparked jubilation among both Ukrainians and many Belarusians and Russians critical of post-Soviet tyrannies. Even if the views of the RDK participants who participated in the operation are unacceptable to them. This common joy does not let the hope fade away that friendship and solidarity between peoples – the cause for which our comrade Dima Petrov gave his life – will eventually be preserved, strengthened and will allow us to solve problems and challenges that humanity faces in our time together. At the same time, we understand that strengthening friendship between peoples is necessary to tear out the festering abscesses of authoritarian regimes that sow wars and enmity, such as the regime of Putin in Russia or Erdogan in Turkey.
Anarchists from Russia are involved in the fight against Putinism both at the front and behind enemy lines. Moreover, we believe that it is important not just to participate in practice, but also to proclaim our project for the radical reorganization of society, to bring its implementation closer.
We share the commentary of an anarchist volunteer about yesterday’s events:
“There is a confrontation in the world between tendencies towards authoritarianism and the aspirations of popular movements for greater democratization, freedom, self-government. The dictatorial, imperialist Putin regime has driven the peoples of Russia into complete disempowerment and is carrying out invasions of other countries in order to enslave their peoples.
The true left is the most consistent democrat – we stand for maximum freedom from political and economic power, we believe that people deserve the right to decide for themselves how they live. We believe that with modern technology it is possible to provide a decent standard of living for each and every one.
The Putin regime must be destroyed. This can become the work of all honest and caring people around the world, regardless of the color of their skin or the color of their passport. Opposition to Putinism can and should be an international affair. Therefore, we are in favor of fighting the Russian government, including fighting. We are happy about today’s blow to Putinism inflicted in the Belgorod and Bryansk regions – after all, this is a step towards the victory of freedom over slavery. A step towards the victory of the people of Ukraine and the freedom of the peoples of Russia.
