The Royal Air Force electronic reconnaissance aircraft Boeing RC-135W Airseeker R.1, ZZ665 board performs a reconnaissance mission from the Waddington airbase in the Black Sea along the Crimean coast. The minimum distance in the Sevastopol region was 56 km, in the Novorossiysk region – 52 km.

RC-135W Airseeker ZZ665 is one of three such converted aircraft serving national intelligence collection missions “soaking up” electronic emissions from air and ground communications, radars, missile systems, electronic warfare systems and more. Air refueling typically is part of extended missions.
