We deny that the alleged laboratories found in recent days by the regime’s forces, one in the rural area of Cúcuta, La Pedregosa (according to the newspaper quote) and another in the municipality of Los Patios, belong to the ELN.
It is a State practice where the Army and police, after taking economic advantage of the collusion with drug trafficking, destroy the laboratories that they allowed, obtain the positive, and comply with the strategy of linking the ELN in this business, in the logic of blurring our armed and political struggle as a revolutionary project.

The ELN reaffirms its policy and decision to categorically dissociate itself from drug trafficking. Our struggle and revolutionary project as a nation is not and is not willing to be labeled as just another drug cartel. WE DO NOT GROW, WE DO NOT HAVE LABORATORIES, WE DO NOT EXPORT OR TRADE IN NARCOTICS.
This is the old and repeated strategy that the State and the right-wing media in Colombia use to delegitimize 60 years of struggle and resistance alongside the people. A faded strategy that seeks to caricature the resistance that we, the ELNs, maintain in defense of sovereignty, by not allowing the country’s natural resources to be taken by multinationals, the same resistance that fights the paramilitary bands that come to the territories to assassinate residents and community leaders and opposes the interference of North American imperialism.
The National Urban War Front of the ELN does not dispute territories to get into the drug trafficking and micro-trafficking business, nor does it have drug processing laboratories. The violence unleashed in the country’s cities between gangs, due to their dispute over territory for the drug trade, has left hundreds dead in the neighborhoods and communes, and is fueled to a high degree by the corruption of the metropolitan police in the cities, Cúcuta being one of the clearest examples of this.
The long criminal history that points to the police of the capital of Norte de Santander dates back years, going back to the time of the arrival of the AUC border block, who in a collusion between political leaders of the traditional parties, state security forces and paramilitary chiefs gave the green light for these mercenaries to murder hundreds of humble inhabitants of the city.
From commanders, colonels and superintendents of the metropolitan police have been involved in dismissals, transfers and investigations for reasons of false positives, corruption, prostitution scandals such as the community of the ring (Captain Anyelo Palacios)
But just to review the last 2 years we have the following figures:
-On December 1, 2022, two colonels from the metropolitan police of Cúcuta were dismissed.
-On March 19, 2023, the deputy commander of the Cúcuta police in Pereira was captured for false positives. ELN
-On November 28, 2023, 10 police officers were arrested for corruption, false raids and theft.
-So far in 2024, 15 police officers have been arrested, linked to gangs and human trafficking.
-On May 2, 2024, 3 police officers were captured for having facilitated the escape of alias “Zeus”, head of the Gulf Clan.
-On August 3, 2024, 2 police officers were arrested for theft.

Crime is guaranteed by the police institutions and this is not an invention, it is a reality that cities live today and Cúcuta is an example of this, the city in the hands of criminals.
