Hacking group RipperSec carried out a series of cyber attacks using denial-of-service (DDoS) technology on a number of Indian and Israeli websites, in order to support the Palestinian cause and highlight the suffering in Gaza.
Attacks on Indian websites :
– New Delhi International Airport : One of the group’s main targets, the airport’s website was down for an extended period on July 20, 2024, affecting the daily operations of the airport.
– TPG Groups website : It was also subjected to a DDoS attack on July 22, 2024, which led to the cessation of electronic services available through the website.
Attacks on Israeli websites :
– The Israeli Army website : It was subjected to a major attack by the group on July 20, 2024, which led to the cessation of some vital services on the website.
– Trip Now website : On July 22, 2024, RipperSec targeted this website, affecting the travel and reservation services provided through it.
Messages and motivations:
The attacks represent a response to genocidal practices and in defense of the rights of Palestinians. Under the slogan, “Open your eyes! This is genocide, not self-defense,” the group seeks to raise awareness about the Palestinian issue.
Support and cooperation:
RipperSec benefits from the support of several hacking teams such as StucxTeam, SylhetGang, HacktivistSulawesi, and MorrocanCyberBlackArmy, which enhances its ability to carry out these attacks.
