The Inventors for the Front association has developed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the Korshun aircraft type. This was reported on April 15 by TASS .
It is noted that unlike analogues “Orlan” and “Eleron,” “Kite” does not need a starting catapult. Thanks to this, it can be fully prepared for launch in just two minutes.
“While the launcher is being installed, artillery and MLRS of the enemy may begin to work on it, respectively, it may not be in time to launch the drone,” the representatives of the organization said.
All parts of the “Kite” are fastened. This allows for much more imperceptible takeoff and landing, which is safer not only for the operator b²⅔ut also for the UAV itself.
The wingspan of the drone is 2.1 m, the length is 1.2 m. However, the drone can be launched both from the hand and from the ground. “Korshun” is designed for reconnaissance and dropping various products, including fragmentation grenades. The “Inventors for the Front” said that in the future it is planned to test the UAV in the special operation zone.
According to the organization, the drone combines technical solutions from both quadrocopters and aircraft. Due to this, the advantages of vertical takeoff and landing of a quadrocopter are used, as well as the duration of the flight of the aircraft is increased.
“Kite” takes off like a quadrocopter and freezes. After that, the front propeller is turned on, and the drone continues to fly like a plane on one engine. This technology provides less electricity consumption, which allows you to increase the flight time. The duration of the flight of the “Kite” is about two hours.
According to the developers, the cruising speed of the UAV is 70 km/h. The maximum flight distance is 170 km, the maximum altitude is 3 km above sea level.
