A Wagner mercenary who fled to Norway confirmed that his “colleagues” were shown in that beheading video. He identified them by their characteristic call signs, by the way they talk, by what they sound on the radio.
Yesterday, a video appeared on the Internet showing how the Russian occupiers are showing their beastly nature – severely torturing a Ukrainian prisoner and cutting off his head.
The voices of people who cut off the head of a soldier of the Armed Forces belong to the mercenaries of the “Wagner” PVC, claims human rights defender Volodymyr Osechkin. Wagner’s ex-fighter Andriy Medvedev, who fled to Norway, recognized the voices of people with whom he was in a private military company on a video recording.
The Security Service of Ukraine has started a pre-trial investigation of this war crime under Part 2 of Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

“We will find these inhumans. If necessary, we will get them wherever they are: from underground or from the other world. But they will definitely be punished for what they have done,” stressed the Head of the SBU, Vasyl Malyuk .
Why have the Russkies posted the POW beheading video now?
A legit question, right? Why would those Russian fanatics wait for so long before boasting of yet another war crime?
It’s all about their panic.
Let me explain.
Last week, a large-scale trove of “highly classified” documents was leaked into the public domain, allegedly exposing some secret details of Ukraine’s upcoming counteroffensive. And although the documents contained no top secret information as such, the media wave caused by the stunt was rather unpleasant.
Considering the situation of the leaked “documents”, many experts concluded that the effort was in fact part of a psyop, designed to disrupt the Ukrainian counteroffensive, for which the Russian occupation forces command is absolutely unprepared. They have no full picture of what directions this counteroffensive will be launched in, what kind of forces will be employed, and which scenario Ukraine will choose to pursue.
Therefore, Russia is doing the only thing it can – creating information waves designed to hamper the efforts of the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, wage cracks into Kyiv’s communication with international partners and, as a result, disrupt or at least delay the counteroffensive.
So now, after a series of leaks, a video showing atrocities committed by the invaders circulates in the media space as a sort of intimidation: “If you dare counter-attack, this awaits you all.” That is, Russia is now starting a campaign to intimidate Ukrainian soldiers and civilians by boasting of their own brutalities, while perfectly realizing the consequences for publishing evidence of war crimes.
So the thing is that Russia’s command is so mortified by the looming counteroffensive that they are okay with practically pleading guilty of war crimes just to try to affect the morale of the Ukrainians. Therefore, I can’t rule out that more such videos will be surfacing soon.
Of course, it was difficult for me to watch that clip as it further confirms the already clear fact that the invaders are inhumane. At the same time, however, this shows how much they are terrified of Ukrainians. Cornered rats ready to pounce… But even if they try to pounce, they’re still rats. And they are terrified.
