The Navy of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the first indigenous naval engine of Iran, was built with a power of 3600 horsepower under the name of Makran.

This engine is able to increase the speed of military vessels up to 30 knots.  Previously, the speed of these vessels was 15 knots.

Two optimized missile launchers, the Mace and the Dagger, also joined the Navy.  The missile launcher is optimized in 6 years and the dagger launcher in 4 years. Each of these two vessels is 50 meters long, 8 meters wide and weighs 300 tons.

Also in this ceremony, the largest marine industry innovation factory of the country, the first marine industry innovation city and ‌the largest marine industry technology tower was inaugurated in Bushehr.

In the presence of Sorena Sattari, Vice President for Science and Technology and Admiral Shahram Irani, Commander of the Navy, the production line of marine diesel heavy engines and the first and largest marine industry innovation factory in Bushehr were inaugurated.

The first indigenous naval engine made in Iran was unveiled at the 7th Azar base of the Navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.  The “Mace” and “Dagger” optimized missile launchers also joined the Navy.

According to ISNA, quoting the public relations of the Navy, with the presence of Sorena Sattari, Vice President for Science and Technology, and Admiral Shahram Irani, Commander of the Navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the first native naval engine of Iran was built with 3600 horsepower named Makran.  The Navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran was unveiled on the 7th of Azar.

This marine engine, which has been localized and put into operation by the country’s technology activists, meets the marine industry’s need for marine engines to use warships.  This engine is able to increase the speed of military vessels up to 30 knots.  Previously, the speed of these vessels was 15 knots.

Admiral Shahram Irani, Commander of the Navy, said in the program that the first marine diesel engine was “designed and built entirely by the youth of this country”, adding that the parts of this engine are “completely Iranian” and will be installed on the first Iranian missile launcher.

He continued: “This engine has special features and is made in accordance with the continuity of naval missions and has been able to make the country self-sufficient in the production of diesel engines.”  There are only five countries in the world that can build marine diesel engines, and fortunately Iran is one of these countries with the production of these engines.

Each of the two vessels is 50 meters long, 8 meters wide and weighs 300 tons.  In distant waters, international oceans and waterways will be deployed.

The mace and dagger ships, which are in the class of advanced missile ships and belong to the Peykan missile ship family, have been optimized with the help of knowledge-based companies and have now been upgraded to the most advanced reconnaissance, electronic, propulsion, strategic and combat systems.

The optimization of the dagger and mace missile launcher has been done with the help of knowledge-based companies and in marine innovation factories.  In line with the Supreme Leader’s emphasis on recognizing priorities and criteria for priorities, the Navy has provided the ground for cooperation with the knowledge base to meet its needs and enhance its defense capability and empowerment.

By entering the field of construction, optimization and overhaul using the capable manpower of the country, this force has now been able to put these two ships into operation.

The missile launcher is a fast-floating class with a thrust system of 12,000 horsepower and a speed of 25 knots.

The process of optimization, design and manufacture of parts and major repairs of various parts, in the factories of Iranian marine industry innovation with the help of knowledge-based companies began in March 1999 and in the fields of electricity and electronics, overhaul repairs of 4 main engines and 3 generators, air compressors and other parts  It reached the final stage by spending 644,000 man-hours in December of this year.

In these ships, more than 320 pieces were made in Iran, more than 500 pieces were repaired and more than 1980 pieces were replaced.  These ships are equipped with powerful cruise missile systems, 40 and 76 mm cannons and 12 mm Doshka machine guns.

The quality and technology of the equipment, parts and systems used in these vessels, the dagger and the mace are among the most advanced ships ready to counter air and sea attacks and comprehensive defense of the country’s water borders.

Capt. Abbas Fazelonia, Chief of Staff of the Navy, said at the ceremony: “The overhaul of the vessels has been achieved using the power of the Navy Technical Complex and the capacity of knowledge-based companies.”  In major repairs, local and reconstructed parts and Makran native engine with 3600 hp will be installed on the two mentioned ships.

He continued: “Also, these two ships were equipped with integrated air defense systems, long-range cruise missiles and various types of naval cannons.”  During the overhaul of the hulls, their fire and cooling systems have also been rebuilt and localized.  Each of these ships weighs 285 tons and is 47 meters long, which can travel 1,400 kilometers at sea with each refueling.

Fazelnia continued: “Considering the type of operation of these ships, their use is for international missions, which will soon be achieved by being present in extraterrestrial waters.”

Companies operating in areas such as reconnaissance, navigation, infrastructure, maintenance, drones and polymer-specific coatings produce products required by the offshore space using infrastructure space, material and spiritual support of offshore factories and meet the needs of this area, create added value.

In these factories, by providing space for establishment, financial support, market and product in the 50-hectare space of maritime innovation factories, the Navy, while ordering products to companies, will buy Iranian-based products made by companies.

The scope and scope of cooperation of these factories is wide and includes all sectors of the innovation and technology ecosystem, including technology development centers, science and technology parks, universities in the province and across the country.  he is doing it.

In the form of these innovation factories, the purpose of production, the activity of companies, the final buyer and the support are clear, one of the engines of battleships has been localized by a number of scholars.

500 billion Rials worth of Iranian-made parts have been purchased from companies by the Navy, while with the opening of these factories, at least one thousand jobs will be supported and cooperation with the province’s technology park will be developed.

By creating a suitable platform and space for science and technology parks, universities and technology growth centers of the province, the navy has created a capacity so that if companies provide it in areas related to the needs of the navy, they can be located in the technology growth center of these factories.  .

In the next 50 hectares of these factories, which will be opened in the future, products in the field of aerospace, missile turbines and UAVs will be produced with the support of the Navy of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran to design and produce various products in the field of missiles, turbines, surveillance and navigation.
