It became known that in the area of the Charklyk / Zhoqiang missile range (Taklamakan Desert, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region), China has built targets for destruction – an American aircraft carrier and two Orly Burke-class destroyers. Construction began in 2019. An extensive railroad has been laid up to the landfill, along which targets can move. Photo 3 shows a target on a railway platform (dimensions: length – 75 m, width – 6 m).
Thus, with 99% certainty, China is purposefully preparing to destroy mobile sea targets. The Dongfeng-21D (DF-21D) anti-ship ballistic missiles with a firing range of up to 1,550 km and the Dongfeng-26B anti-ship ballistic missiles with a firing range of up to 4,000 km are just suitable for this role.
The most suitable missile ranges for this type of missile launch are China’s Shuangchengzi (Gansu Province) and Jilantai (Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region).
